学生時代から会社勤めを始めた頃に買ったレコードは300枚程度と思いますが、プレーヤーもなく実家の押し入れの中で眠っています。
いまから10年くらい前でしょうか？どんな状態か見ようとして、持ち上げたジャニス・イアンの「Between The Lines」のジャケットはボロボロで、崩れ落ちてしまいました。
当時、輸入盤のジャケットは紙質の悪い厚紙でできていました。風化したのか、虫が付いたのか判りませんが、驚きました。
ジャニス・イアンの傑作アルバムだと思います。と言って意地張って「17歳」は載せないのです・・・
Wikipediaを見ていたら彼女は男性との結婚経験を持ちながら、同性愛者であることを告白、女性マネージャーと結婚したのだそうです。

歳とってからのライブも良いのですが、すっかり落ち着いた、優しいおばあちゃんに成熟していて、繊細なと言うよりは大きな包容力で観客を支えてくれている様な気がします。
それにしても日本人に好かれた人でテレビドラマやコマーシャルで流れている曲は多いことに驚かさせられます。
