ペンタングルは「わかさはいかい」で、、思い入れを少し書いたので、ここでは省略します。
アルバムからするとやはり一枚目の「Pentangle」が一番ですが、結局どれもいいなと、レコードで持っているものも全てCDで揃えてしまいました。
Pentangle “Reflection”
レコードでは持っていなかった、ヤンシュとレンボーンのデュオアルバムもお気に入りの一つです。
レコードの「Pentangle」は7曲しか入っていなかったのに、CDではおまけの曲がいっぱい入っていて、それはそれで、嬉しいのですが、あのまとまったレコードアルバムがぶっ飛んでしまっている感じがあります。
日本盤のみのボーナストラック（日本だけじゃない様ですが・・・）というのは昔からありましたが、個人的には余り好きではない。
アルバムはアーティストやプロデューサーが構成を考えて造り出した世界であって、単に曲を集めたものではない・・・という自分の思い入れがあります。
そこに勝手におまけの曲を付加してしまうのはアルバムコンセプトを壊してしまう可能性があるのではと思っています。プロデューサーの了解は得るのだとは思いますが・・・
最近は音楽を曲単位でダウンロードする人が増えていてCDの売上が落ちているということです。
単独の曲を求める人が大勢を占めているということは、作品としてのアルバムにこだわる自分は時代から取り残されているのでしょう。
アルバムコンセプトなる概念自体が、「ニューミュージック・マガジン」創刊世代の幻想ということなのかもしれません。
冒頭のRefrectionは5人がせめぎあう感じの曲として選んだのですが、正直言うとパフォーマンス、特にレンボーンが乗ってない感じで若干不満がありました。
下はもうちょっと活きの良い頃のレンボーンとヤンシュのデュオが楽しめます。ジャッキー・マクシーのボーカルがないのが寂しいのですが。
シンプルな繰り返しが続く下は自分の好きな曲の一つです。
多くの歌手が唄ってますが、ペンタングルがなぜアメリカ民謡を？とちょっと不思議な気がしたことを覚えています。

バート・ヤンシュ逝く！
バート・ヤンシュが昨年10月5日肺ガンで亡くなったのだそうです。享年67歳。残念です。彼の死を報じたIrish Timeの記事をお借りします。

Scottish folk guitarist and founding member of Pentangle Bert Jansch has died at the age of 67 in London.
Jansch, who had cancer, died at a hospice in Hampstead, north London early this morning.
He was considered one of the most influential musicians of all time with artists such as Neil Young, Johnny Marr, Paul Simon and Jimmy Page all admitting their debt to him.
Born in Glasgow in 1943, the musician began his career in the 1960s and was a leading figure in the British folk music revival scene. He formed the legendary band Pentangle in 1967 with John Renbourn, Jacqui McShee, Danny Thompson and Terry Cox.
After the group split in 1973, Jansch resumed his solo career and continued performing until very recently. His last Irish show was with Joanna Newsom in Dublin’s Marlay Park in July.
The Black Swan , Jansch’s last album was released in 2006. It was the artist’s 23rd album and included contributions from Beth Orton Devendra Banhart.
Jansch received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2001 and the Mojo Merit Award in 2006.
The musician is survived by his wife Loren and by his sons, Kieron and Adam. Another son, Richard, predeceased him.
